From Soul Crushing to Goal Crushing: 21 Day Fix Day 6 Dirty Thirty

My biggest lesson from the day?

My Wal-Mart resistance band I bought many years ago should have been tossed in the trash can at least a few years ago. In the middle of a move today, the band snapped and slapped my bare foot! Ouch! From now on I will stick to higher quality bands and I’ll consider their replacement periodically.

Warm-up

The same plain Jane warm-up as the majority of the 21 Day Fix. I’m definitely used to this routine by now!

The Workout

The 21 Day Fix Dirty Thirty is 4 rounds each with 2 moves.

Round one is alternating side lunges and pushup rows. Then sumo rows and chest fly raises, squat lat raises and tricep kickbacks, and finally, round four is side bends and side plank raises. By the time I got to side bends I was so thankful for a relatively low impact move. Whew!

My triceps definitely received a good workout today. They aren’t large muscles, and mine definitely burn when I’m exercising them.

Once again, I did not skip the cool-down. I am so devoted to the cool down after getting hurt once as a result of skipping it. Never again!

Oh hey, are you interested in a nice set of resistance bands? My good set came from Amazon, sold by Black Mountain. They are interchangeable and they also came with some great accessories. Since I travel quite a bit, I definitely rely heavily on the resistance bands. This set includes a great foot strap so you don’t have to wrap the actual band around your foot when doing certain movies. Even better, there is an accessory that allows me to do overhead moves – it is a door anchor with some beads or shot in the end which can be placed inside a closed door. I guess it’s hard to explain, but it allows you to do things like chin ups in a hotel room. Pretty sweet. You can get it here.
